Muslims Read 07/2020

Hey Fellow Shepherds,

Greetings from Vancouver!

I sincerely hope this newsletter will find you safe, healthy, strong in your mind, and firm in your belief.

This month I focused on the belief system. There is no better time to read about it.

The way we see God, the world, and ourselves, can either bring us up or make us miserable.

Here are the 4 articles I wrote on the topic:

Book of the month:

“Mindset, the new psychology of success” by Carol Dweck

The core concept of this book is the difference between the fixed and the growth mindset.

The fixed mindset believes whatever you are born with is all you’ve got.

The growth mindset believes you can get better at anything with consistent effort.

The surprising part is how this simple idea affects the way we show up in life. From parenting, business, relationships, school, to how we see success, failure, and love; it all starts with the mindset.

I highly recommend this book.

Article of the month:

“This Small Change in Your Language Can Help Downplay Negativity”

A short article on how little tweaks in our self-talk can help less exaggerating our negativity

Video of the month:

I don’t follow basketball. But I’m always interested in the athlete’s mindset. This interview with Kobe Bryant is inspiring. See what it takes to become excellent at your craft.

Quote of the month:

“Did I win? Did I lose? Those are the wrong questions. The correct question is: Did I make my best effort?” If so, he says, “You may be outscored but you will never lose.” Carol S. Dweck
